Despite having an exclusive contract and two of the most attractive fixtures in the SPFL calendar to choose from Sky Sports turned down the chance to show any live action from last night’s Premiership card.

The home clubs were able to offer their own Pay Per View streams but most fans were left in the dark with only BBC Sportscene at 10.45 providing a snippet of highlights.

At midnight You Tube offered highlights from all three matches, by 6am this morning the highlights from Celtic Park had been watched almost three times as often as the action from Easter Road.

Almost 60,000 fans watched the match live inside Celtic Park, it wasn’t a classic but the home side were comfortably on top as they beat Hearts 3-1 to retain their 100% home record in the SPFL and their nine point lead at the top of the Premiership.

That seemed to be a very popular watch, by 6am 50,000 views had been clocked up compared to the 17,000 of the highlights from Easter Road.
