When Steve Conroy went on his rant about simulation in the Scottish game it seems that he had his blinkers on.

Reo Hatate was this weeks target for the former SFA referee, picking up on an incident during the Scottish Cup win over Hearts at Tynecastle.

Retrospective red cards is the demand from Conroy who quit refereeing more than a decade ago after being overlooked for televised matches after a series of howlers.

It takes something pretty serious for the SFA to demote a referee, Steven McLean and Alan Muir are still going strong eight years after ‘failing’ to punish Josh Meekings for handball in a Scottish Cup semi-final.

Had Conroy tuned in to Raith Rovers visit to Ibrox on Sunday he’d have been horrified by some of the incidents in that match.

Whether Ryan Kent or Fashion Sakala plays or is suspended from the semi-final is unlikely to concern any Celtic fan.
