BBC Scotland have announced that there will be no presenter or pundits on Sportscener tonight.
The announcement was made after Celtic’s 3-0 win away to Hearts in the Scottish Cup.
Since the BBC announced that Gary Lineker had been ditched from Match of the Day there has been a furious reaction to the decision.
Ian Wright and Alan Shearer were first to show their solidarity, late on Friday night it was announced that the commentators, almost all freelance announced that they wouldn’t be covering EPL matches.
The snowball effect continued this morning with the PFA announcing that there would be no post-match interviews.
Match of the Day will go ahead tonight with video action only, during the course of today Football Focus and Final Score were ditched as those inside the BBC react to show their backing for Lineker against the witch hunt inspired by the Daily Mail and Daily Express.
The BBC will only be able to bring limited sport programming this weekend and our schedules will be updated to reflect that.
Sportscene will run this evening on BBC One Scotland and BBC Scotland, with an amended format similar to current plans for Match of the Day.

The situation’s easily resolved. Stop the Tories in the boardroom interfering with editorial decisions.

There has been tweets or comments from Steven Thompson, Neil McCann, Jamie McFadden or Richard Foster, the announcement above appears to have been taken by BBC Scotland management to protect their loyal band of pundits.
