At tea-time yesterday Fran Alonso was just another football coach, an enthusiastic and talkative Spaniard forever keen to talk up the women’s game in Scotland.

With silence coming out of Ibrox today Alonso is being targeted for apparently goading Craig McPherson into last night’s shameful incident.

When supporters are involved they tend to be Chelsea fans or a tiny minority, when the problem is inside the toxic club silence is golden with deflection underway from a few sources.

At the age of 52 McPherson has been in plenty of heated situations across the Scottish game at Morton, Falkirk and Dumbarton.

Across those three clubs he must have been called a few names, heard a few sweary words and probably personal abuse.

Now into his third year on the Ibrox payroll something flipped last night, out in public, under the floodlights in front of Sky Sports he attempted to head-butt another football coach.

Nothing has come out of Ibrox today about the incident, the nutjobs are at work rewriting the truth, denying the evidence of their own eyes.

Every passing hour without comment never mind condemnation exposes McPherson’s employers much more than their hot headed coach.
