Steven McLean will referee Saturday’s match between Celtic and Hibs, his sixth fixture of the season involving Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The Glasgow based official, best known for his handling of the 2015 Scottish Cup semi-final between Celtic and Inverness Caley Thistle, appears to be climbing back up the ranks with more high profile appointments.

Saturday’s match will be his third at Celtic Park since the turn of the year, previously he took charge of both visits from St Mirren, back in October he refereed the 6-1 win over Hibs that saw James Forrest score a hat-trick.

Grant Irvine is the fourth official with Gavin Duncan on VAR duty.

Celtic go into Saturday’s match looking to maintain their 100% record, with Hibs looking to challenge city rivals Hearts for third place despite some difficult moments for the Edinburgh up until the end of January.

Following Saturday’s match Celtic have two more home matches before the split where they will get two home games.

Steven McLean? Yes, I had a bath this morning!
How can that guy live with his (non)-decision not to award Celtic a penalty that day?

Editor: Did his career the world of good. With Lawwell om mute McLean got the 2016 Scottish Cup Final although it didn’t have a very happy ending.
