Rather than accept with some grace the fact that the two teams had delivered an entertaining match Ibrox coach Craig McPherson let his emotions get the better of him with an attempted head-butt on Celtic boss Fran Alonso.
Having invested heavily in the women’s game the spotlight is now on the SFA to react to an incident witnessed across the UK.
Early action from Ibrox would be helpful but the ball is now in the court of Ian Maxwell over how they react to one coach attacking another at the end of a showpiece match.
