Tony Ralston is the latest addition to a lengthening Celtic injury list.
The defender was called into the Scotland squad last Monday but failed to make the 22 chosen by Steve Clarke for today’s 3-0 win over Cyprus.
Video Celts understands that Ralston picked up a knock during Friday’s training session and will return for treatment with Celtic rather than remain in the international squad for Tuesday’s match against Spain.
Alastair Johnston is Ange Postecoglou’s first choice right-back but Ralston is as reliable a back up as there is in the Celtic squad.
Over the last few days injury concerns have surfaced over Liel Abada, Daizen Maeda and Sead Haksabanovic.
With Greg Taylor, Aaron Mooy and Cameron Carter-Vickers missing out on international duty to deal with injuries there will be a lot of pressure on the Celtic medical team when the internationalists return to Lennoxtown in midweek.
