Absolutely gone- Neil McCann joins Boyd and McCoist in the On Message Loyal

When it comes to cheerleading for Micky Beale only Kenny Miller can get close to Neil McCann.

The former Dundee boss makes no attempt to tone down his admiration for the incredible work carried out by the former QPR boss since he moved to Ibrox to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Winning every game, except three against Celtic, has had McCann marvelling at the tactics deployed by Beale as he postpones the revamp of the Ibrox squad in order to present stats that might get him a job back in England when the inevitable happens.

Taking his lead from Ally McCoist and Kris Boyd on Sky Sports, McCann told Sportscene viewers that the ‘end is nigh’ if strikers aren’t allowed to push and pull at defenders as they wait for a corner to be delivered.

There was normal jostling between Alastair Johnston and Alfredo Morelos but as the ball approached the Columbian pulled his opponent closer then pushed Johnston away before the ball bounced off his shin into the net.

Morelos got away with similar antics jn Aaron Mooy in the Viaplay Cup Final, on Saturday his luck was out.
