Big mouth Kenny Macintyre goes AWOL

After a few words out of place in the midweek podcast with Tom English and Kieran Maguire it seems that Kenny Macintyre has decided to take a few days off.

When it comes to the big issues the Sportsound host likes to think that he is the guy that asks the questions that others shy away from posing. If there is a tough question to ask at Celtic, Aberdeen or Hibs Kenny Mac is in there like a rottweiler, all over the issues.

When it comes to issues closer to home he is just another fawning fan-boy.

MacIntyre said on today’s BBC Sport podcast: “Morelos, I’m told, he’s gone. The manager doesn’t see him as part of the plans. It’s difficult for the manager to speak about at the moment, I know that.”

That is a big big story, if he can mention it on a podcast he should follow it up with the full story, if he was employed by a commercial operator he’d be expected to do just that. And the follow up stories.

Macintyre wasn’t among the voices at today’s Micky Beale conference for broadcasters. No one from BBC Scotland asked a single question about Morelos, let alone the reasoning for allowing the club’s leading European scorer leave for free.

In the summer of 2021 Macintyre and BBC Scotland were providing round the clock coverage as Kris Ajer, Olivier Ntcham, Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie entered the final year of their contracts.
