During the first half of Saturday’s Derby match Ally McCoist and Andy Walker were competing with each other over who was most outraged at a ‘goal’ being disallowed for fouling.

In their playing days both pundits were never slow to hit the deck, apparently it is the done thing and expected in a professional environment where you are playing for bonus money.

Kevin Clancy’s decision almost had McCoist calling for the game to be abandoned, his English admirers would barely have recognised the chirpy chappy who brings joy and happiness to the commentary box wherever he goes/is paid.

Fortunately the Sky Sports duo were back on form midway through the second half when Kyogo Furuhashi was wrongly called for offside.

‘Half a yard offside,’ McCoist called it, as the incident was replayed his buddy Walker corrected him with both pundits seeing the funny side- unlike their reaction to a bout of wrestling from Alfredo Morelos in the first half.
