As they look at the SPFL table and the prospect of Ange’s Coronation Weekend some Ibrox fans are daring to look at reality.

Five months of upbeat boasts from Micky Beale have failed to make any impact on Celtic with the former QPR boss only delaying a massive overhaul in his squad.

If Beale survives through to Christmas he will take a very different looking side to Celtic Park with four or five at most survivors from yesterday’s defeat.

Four of yesterday’s starters are out of contract in two months time, add in Malik Tillman being on loan from Bayern Munich and the scale of the rebuild comes into view.

As well as the rebuild Beale has to decide whether Ben Davies and John Souttar can be trusted going forward, both defenders were signed last summer on long term contracts but barely look convincing.

How the rebuild is funded is anyone’s guess. Share issues at the end of January and March suggest that Beale might be in for a shock when he discovers his unlimited transfer budget.
