Andy Walker has switched his criticism of Willie Collum over the penalty awarded to Celtic away to Ross County.

On duty for Sky Sports he watched a replay of the first half incident involving Alex Iacovitti and Cameron Carter-Vickers claiming that the ball struck the Ross County defender on the shoulder.

Subsequent replays have shown that Iacovitti had his left arm fully extended when the ball struck him with Stuart Dougal and Dermot Gallagher reviewing the incident and admitting that the penalty decision was correct.

It was harsh, the timing was unfortunate but despite all of the circumstances and sympathy for the home team VAR produced the correct outcome.

Walker was on Go-Radio tonight, listening in the Daily Record reported the former Celtic striker saying:

No one would have batted an eye had there not been a penalty given. They are actually looking for offences now.

The fact that both players were trying to head it, and it actually goes through that head space as they were jostling with one another, and hits his arm/shoulder on the way through. I think it’s just the latest in a long line of ridiculous penalties

It seems that it is the rules rather than the decision that has angered Walker, on Saturday he will be part of the Sky Sports team covering the Glasgow Derby.
