John Lundstram is turning into one of the most expensive problems at Ibrox.
A 10 week period of form last spring transformed the Scary Scouser into the Greatest on Earth but after that blip he has resumed the form that saw Sheffield United let him run down his contract with not a sniff of interest from other EPL clubs.
Signed by Steven Gerrard on a three year deal Lundstram is one of the highest paid earners at Ibrox and is showing no urgency to return to English football.
With Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and others ready to leave as free agents Lundstram knows that he is a year away from the same status and another decent pay day for his limited ability.
Picking up the ball from central defenders and passing to full-backs just about sums up his contribution, one that is being copied by Nico Raskin and Todd Cantwell as they opt for an easy time of it.
Last week it surfaced that Lundstram has provided one assist in almost two seasons at Ibrox, on the plus side he has outscored Ryan Kent by five to three in this season’s SPFL Premiership.
