The football pages of the Scottish Daily Express haven’t been updated since April 14.

The top story on display is about Christian Nerlinger turning down the chance to replace Ross Wilson, alongside Micky Beale’s injury worries for last Saturday’s match against St Mirren.

Over on the news side things are constantly being updated, with glee over the problems that the SNP are facing but the football output has come to a halt.

The print edition of the Express shares copy with Reach Group stable-mates the Daily Record, Sunday Mail and The Star but for no obvious reason the easier to produce digital edition remains on hold.

Normally the football pages of the Express are fast moving, pushing out upbeat Ibrox tales just like the Record and Football Scotland beefed up by the views of Steve Conroy and Des Roach on all refereeing issues.

Discovering a digital audience, pageviews and sessions is essential if the Scottish Express is to have a future, if they can’t keep a running commentary with content from other Reach publishers the future looks even gloomier.
