With Kenny Miller overdoing it and Andy Halliday making himself unavailable Super Scoreboard turned to Alex Rae to share his expertise on tonight’s show.

After a long stint on the media circuit Paul Ince brought the former Wolves midfielder in as his assistant manager at Reading last March as they successfully battled against relegation from the Championship.

Reading decided to sack Ince and Rae on April 11, after a few weeks break Rae is back on the media circuit with Ince unlikely to be back in management any time soon.

On one of his last Super Scoreboard appearances Rae shared his views on James Sands and Reo Hatate.

Bringing in the American utility man was apparently an act of genius from Giovanni van Bronckhorst while the reports from Japan on Hatate were far fetched, Rae simply wasn’t buying it.

Fortunately Celtic did buy it, on February 1 the Japanese utility man scored twice in the Glasgow Derby as the hoops went to the top of the SPFL Premiership, a position they retained throughout Rae’s absence down in The Championship.

Hatate is now on course for a domestic treble, Sands is back in the MLS tying to pick up his career after a lost year working alongside John Lundstram, Ryan Kent, Borna Barisic and Alfredo Morelos.

He is one of the many hun throbbers to pollute the airwaves and screens of the nation.

They are generally characterised as having no talent for anything, being tax dodgers and having played for the dead club.

There is a nest of masons at the BBC who hire these fannies as a matter of course, but Clyde and STV also have their quota.

The whole point of tuning in is simple, listen, laugh, deride. I always listen in to SSB it’s comedy gold. As much as I get my proper “Celtic NewsNow” from the blogs, I still like to have my own opinion on the media. In other words, I have the ability to make my own opinion. However, I do like the way our Bloggers portray the Press and the lunatic fringe they give airtime to.

It was only a matter of time until Rae re surfaced with his basic skills as a commentator for various outlets of the SMSM ! The saving grace is that the season ends next week ,so we won’t be subjected to his appearances for too long !
