With the straightest of faces Ally McCoist told Chris Sutton that Ryan Kent was worth £25-30m!

On Tuesday Micky Beale revealed that the former Liverpool starlet was leaving for free, since he took charge of the club in November no contract offer had been made.

Some might describe that as economic madness.

Ditching his trademark cheeky chappie persona that has made him England’s favourite pundit McCoist had his manager head on when he discussed the transfer value of Kent on BT Sport. Clearly the values of Kieran Tierney and Moussa Dembele were the baseline.

When you play as a winger for a team that enjoys 60% plus possession in every match scoring three goals a season is no big deal. Even the twice a year Leeds United rumour failed to produce a bid.

Sure he can point to plenty of penalty-assists but at his next club Kent won’t have the security of match officials from Lanarkshire or Glasgow.

During his time in management McCoist signed Ian Black, Kevin Kyle, Dean Shiels, David Templeton and Fran Sandaza.

Super Chalet sure appreciates the value of money!

I think he was talking in Zimbabwean dollars, not Dembele dollars. Even then he’d be overpriced though. Stick to gardening Ally. Your financial punditry is as embarrassing and cringey as your football punditry, ya fud.
