Ange Postecoglou has dismissed a report that claimed Cameron Carter-Vickers will be out of action for three to four months.
That timeline eats into the start of next season but the Celtic boss expects his first pick defender to be ready for the start of the SPFL season on August 5/6.
Carter-Vickers put in a man of the match performance in last week’s Scottish Cup semi-final but soon after the final whistle Postecoglou announced that the defender wouldn’t play again this season.
Since January there has been concerns about a knee issue but after putting surgery off the decision was taken to go under the knife.

He’s had the surgery, he’s on his way back and it went really well and he’ll be alright for the start of the season, I’m sure.
It’s a great boost. He was really keen to play up until last weekend. He knew how important that was in the context of our season and he’s a very important part of our set-up and our team.
He’s been carrying that injury for quite a while and at the same time he’s never used it as an excuse for a performance. He’s just got on with things and been outstanding.
It’s good for him because now he knows he can get himself ready for pre-season and ready to go for next year knowing he’s contributed significantly to what’s happened this year.
Yuki Kobayashi will partner Carl Starfelt in central defence on Sunday away to Hearts with the Swede switching to the right hand side.
With Stephen Welsh picking up an injury in training Bosun Lawal could come into the matchday squad even though Celtic’s B team hasn’t played since April 15.
