Celtic are making tentative plans in the event of winning the Scottish Cup on Saturday.

Under pressure from politicians following the weekend celebrations around Glasgow Cross the club has plans in place for some sort of event at Celtic Park if the team can overcome Inverness Caley Thistle at Hampden.

There is a fine balance to find between making sensible contingency plans and making assumptions on a game of football that is subject to various issues that can impact the result.

Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final against Inverness Caledonian Thistle will prove another difficult test for Celtic as both teams battle it out for more silverware.

Given that, in the event of success, supporters have traditionally gathered at Celtic Park following the match, we can confirm that safety and operational arrangements are being put in place at Celtic Park over the coming days.

The Club will communicate further with supporters regarding all matchday arrangements in due course. Thank you for your continued support.

In 2018 Celtic arranged for an open top bus to take the first team squad from Dalmarnock Station to Celtic Park with thousands of fans crowding onto London Road and the Celtic Way to salute the Double Treble winners.

With a 5.30pm kick off at Hampden, as opposed to the 12.30pm kick off to the home match with Aberdeen there is a clear time difference involved this weekend, the team would be unlikely to reach Celtic Park before 9pm if they are successful.
