Jota has highlighted the passion that Celtic fans have for their club as he prepares to try and help the hoops to claim a domestic treble at Hampden on Saturday.

The winger took the difficult decision to leave Benfica after effectively growing up at the club, playing for Portugal at every level upto u-21 level.

Continuing his career in a cold European outpost would have seemed an unlikely career move two years ago but now the thought of Celtic without their Superstar from Portugal is almost unthinkable.

Since the days of Jimmy Johnstone Celtic fans have always enjoyed a special bond with wingers, the entertainers prepared to take a whack or two to beat their man and make things happen in the final third.

Scoring regularly in the Glasgow Derby is something that fans always appreciate with the bond entirely mutual.

Picking up on an interview with Celtic TV, Glasgow Live reports Jota saying:

This is such a big club with a lot of soul. I see clubs with soul and that is what I want for my life and my career and Celtic is no different. We are probably one of the best clubs in the world in terms of passion, in terms of soul and our fans speak for themselves.

That’s what I want to do, every time I step in Celtic Park or away game I feel the extra push from the fans. It is just an amazing feeling that not a lot of athletes can have and I just want to get the best from it.

Jota scored the only goal of the game when Celtic won their Scottish Cup semi-final last month, the stage is set at Hampden on Saturday for the winger to bring the season down in spectacular fashion.
