Dimitris Melissanidis has gone to incredible lengths to outline why AEK Athens won’t sell Levi Garcia.
Various Scottish outlets have credited Celtic with an interest in the AEK Athens forward who is under contract until June 2025.
Garcia does have some impressive numbers- 11 goals and 4 assists from 23 league appearances- but it is difficult to see Celtic spending big on someone from the Greek League.
Earlier this month a fee of €15m was being mentioned as Garcia’s price tag but speaking to The Sun AEK chief Melissanidis said:
Levi is NOT for sale. We’ll happily suck it up and we’ll see later. I don’t want to sell him. I want to enjoy him. Do you think everything in life is about money?
This team will be able to distinguish themselves in Europe, and the goal should be the Champions League.
Wide players that pitch in with a good share of goals have been an essential part of Ange Postecoglou’s success at Celtic with Garcia fitting the bill.
Liel Abada has been linked with a move away from Celtic but typically Ange Postecoglou hasn’t given that claim any credibility but the hoops boss has admitted that this summer’s transfer window could be tricky.
