Kris Boyd has accused Alfredo Morelos of having a deplorable attitude and of chucking it.

That is a very strong assessment for someone expected to be working for Sky Sports at Ibrox on Saturday.

On Sunday, without prompting or questioning, after his side had beaten Aberdeen Micky Beale stated that introducing Morelos as a substitute had resulted in a drop of energy in his side.

As a professional, criticism doesn’t get much more scathing or personal. Today Beale downplayed his comments, claiming that he has a great relationship and understanding with the Colombian.

Writing in The Sun, Boyd is less forgiving:

For reasons known only to himself, he’s decided to chuck it. It’s pretty sad because Morelos should be remembered for so much more than the last few months.

Yet, he has brought all the criticism on himself with his deplorable attitude.

He should be bowing out as a Rangers great. Instead, he’ll head elsewhere in the summer with his tail between his legs — that is if anyone wants him.

Rangers’ other options are to play Fashion Sakala through the middle or go with a false No?9.

At the start of this season Boyd claimed that Morelos was the best player in Scotland, not Jota.

During the 2014/15 season at Ibrox, playing in the Championship Boyd scored three goals in 29 appearances before being given a free transfer following a 59 minute appearance in the 3-0 Play Off defeat away to Motherwell.
