Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Ange Postecoglou is on the shortlist for the Spurs job but the Celtic boss has other contenders for the job.

Since Arne Slot opted to sign an extended contract at Feyenoord there has been increasing speculation that Postecoglou could become the next Spurs boss.

It is more than two months since Antonio Conte was sacked but with the season now over Spurs appear no closer to naming the successor to the Italian.

Finishing eighth in the EPL seems to be a fair reflection on the players Conte criticised but the lack of European football gives the next boss additional time to work on the training ground.

Reacting to today’s breaking news in The Standard, Give Me Sport reports:

What has Fabrizio Romano said about Postecoglou?

Romano understands that Postecoglou is a contender to take over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after working his way onto a shortlist of candidates.

However, the Italian journalist is aware that the capital club are keeping their options open after being snubbed by Slot.

Romano told GIVEMESPORT: “Postecoglou is a concrete option, for sure. He’s on the list, but he is not the only one.

“After what happened with Arne Slot, Tottenham want to be careful and also have different options.”

Postecoglou joined Celtic in June 2021, signing a 12 month rolling contract and has never given any hint or suggestion that he has his mind set on moving to another club.

Its a no win scenario for Ange.
Go to a club with serious entitlement issues and delusions of grandeur and most likely be sacked or knock them back only to be told he was feart and not good enough anyway.
Would be amazed if he threw away CL football for mid table mediocrity and more cash.
