Josh Clarke saves four penalties as Celtic lift the Glasgow Cup at Ibrox

Josh Clarke was the Celtic hero as the young hoops won the Glasgow Cup at Ibrox tonight.

The young ‘keeper saved an incredible four penalties out of seven which allowed Corey Thomson to step up and fire in the winner from the penalty spot to edge it 4-3 after a 3-3 draw.

Celtic put themselves three nothing up after 36 minutes as they imposed their own brand of football on the match with Ange Postecoglou watching on from the Main Stand at Ibrox.

Adam Brookes scored twice with Rocco Vata also netting with the visitors looking on course for a comfortable night.

Alex Lowry pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 40th minute, during the second half Celtic were architects of their own downfall with slack passing in defence punished with the goal to make it 3-3 coming in the 87th minute.

Ben Summers sent Celtic’s first penalty over the bar but four great saves from Clarke allowed Thomson to net the 14th and final penalty to take another trophy to Celtic Park.
