Celtic have announced that they will play Wolves on July 26.

The match will be played in Suwon South Korea and is the first confirmed pre-season date for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The guessing game is now underway over whether this is before or after the week long visit to Japan that was announced on Tuesday.

January signing Og Hyeon-gyu is clearly the driving force behind the fixture with the Celtic website announcing:

Celtic will take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Suwon World Cup Stadium in South Korea this July as part of an exciting summer tour, which will also see Ange Postecoglou’s side visit Japan.

The game on July 26 will see Celtic’s Korean striker, Oh Hyeon Gyu, face his fellow countryman, Hwang Hee Chan, who plays for the English Premier League side, and who was one of South Korea’s heroes from the recent World Cup in Qatar.

Wolves will also play Roma as part of their trip to South Korea.

After being put through their paces at a European training camp Celtic will fly east to step up their preparations for the new season which starts on August 5/6.

Celtic fans will be looking to see some new signings in the pre-season matches as Ange Postecoglou gets into his fifth transfer window.

With each passing window the bar is getting raised in an incredible turnover of the squad which will be much changed from the squad that went to Wales in July 2021 for friendlies against Charlton, Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City.
