Five months into his Celtic career Alistair Johnston is living the dream.

Next Saturday at Hampden, injury permitting he can complete a clean sweep of domestic honours in just 20 appearances for Celtic.

As recently as November very few Celtic fans had heard of the Montreal full-back, the suggestion that the hoops could get a seamless upgrade on Josip Juarovic would have been laughed at.

From Day 1 at Ibrox Johnston has been the definition of hitting the ground running.

Not only has he been unfazed by the unique nature of Scottish football he has welcomed the aggression and combat side of the game and the expectations that Celtic play under in every game.

The last time that Johnston played at Hampden he ended up celebrating on crutches wearing a moon-boot, hopefully on Saturday he is in full Celtic kit finishing his season with a winners medal round his neck.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement, cheers big man.
