Newcomer Matthew MacDermid didn’t blot his copybook as Micky Beale’s side completed a full campaign without conceding a penalty in the SPFL.

A 3-0 win over St Mirren yesterday took the overall run to 56 stretching back to January 2022 when Kevin Clancy awarded Aberdeen a penalty which Lewis Ferguson sent past Allan McGregor.

Two days later Sky Sports obtained a ‘leaked letter’ of complaint to the SFA- setting off a run in which SPFL referees refused to award a penalty against the Ibrox side with Connor Goldson in particular enjoying some incredible good fortune.

Despite scoring more goals, winning more matches and conceding less goals Celtic had nothing like the same amount of good fortune when it came to penalty decisions.

Ange Postecoglou’s side had two penalties awarded against them in their first domestic VAR fixture with a further five awarded over the season working out at just under a penalty awarded every eight matches.

In 10 UEFA matches this season Giovanni van Bronckhorst saw his side conceded four penalties.

Is that not 1 penalty in 100 League games?
Must surely must be a top flight record in Europe.

Celtic have achieved a League double despite the SFA deploying pure inventive VAR

You can only draw the conclusion that there’s cheating going on, even the second bottom conceded 5. The other 11 teams seem to be happy to be cheated – dependant on the blue pound?

  • William Harper says:

The Urfa and fifa should be looking in to the penalty situation in Scotland as there seams to be favourable outcomes for Rangers at every match which amounts to cheating and bias to every other team in the SPFL
