Two weeks after killing tradition by switching the kick-off time of the Scottish Cup Final, Ian Maxwell has emerged from his Hampden bunker.

Celtic and Inverness Caley Thistle both objected to the switch away from a 3pm kick-off but it seems like pressure from the BBC forced Maxwell to jump.

Despite the popularity of football in Scotland for the third season running Maxwell has been unable to find a sponsor prepared to be associated with the premier competition of the SFA.

Playing the showpiece game of the season at 3pm would have diminished the competition according to the CEO of the SFA, more than a few fans pointed out that the match had been diminished by switching kick-off time to take second place to events at Wembley.

Only Maxwell seems to think that the 5.30pm kick-off is a good idea, despite the statements it is unlikely that the CEO will be criticised at the AGM of the SFA on June 6.
