Soon after Celtic’s title triumph at Tynecastle Radio Clyde decided to roll out the pre-season predictions of their star pundits.

With the honourable exception of Mark Wilson Celtic were written off as one hit wonders.

It seemed that Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Europa League finalists would be too strong for the reigning champions but like all of the others that he has faced domestically Ange Postecoglou swept the opposition aside.

A 4-0 success in the first Glasgow Derby put down a marker for the season ahead but later that month the grey and silver shirted champions were undone away to St Mirren then suffered an extended period without Callum McGregor through injury.

The challenge of performing domestically after midweek Champions League ties proved to be too much for van Bronckhorst to cope with, the Dutchman left with his side nine points behind Celtic.

The gap now stands at 13 with four matches to be played, the team at Radio Clyde will be sharing their thoughts on the champions from 6pm tonight.
