Graeme Souness has gently body-swerved the opportunity to become an ambassador for his ‘boyhood heroes’.

Sadly for Suey that club went into liquidation in 2012 with his good friend Brian Kennedy unable to bail the club out when Her Majesty rejected the offer of a CVA.

As a teenager Souness travelled from Edinburgh to train with Celtic at Barrowfield before joining Spurs then finding his feet at Middlesbrough.

In 1986 he left Sampdoria to become Player-Manager of Rangers, two years later he helped his friend Dave Murray to buy the club, setting them on the path to liquidation.

In April 1991 Souness quit Rangers to become manager of Liverpool and has rarely set foot in Ibrox since then, his only reported visit this season was to enjoy a 7-1 victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the Champions League.

In his sloppily written Daily Mail column Souness writes:

I’ve spoken to James Bisgrove about a Ranger return…

I’ve spoken to James Bisgrove about I’ve had a meeting with James Bisgrove, the new chief executive at Rangers, about the prospect of me going back in some capacity, to help the club.

Given that I’ve been a Rangers supporter since I was a boy, if I thought I could be of help in any small way, it’s something I’d think very seriously about.

Seems like the Bournemouth based pensioner has other priorities rather than being associated with failure in return for a blazer and brogues.

Joe McHugh has been Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.
When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.
Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement, cheers big man.
There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same more than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying every success for Scotland's Most Successful Club.

I don’t see how that’s Peeness rejecting anything Joe. Whilst he confirms nothing it looks like he’s open to a possible return to their dump. A dinosaur like him will be right at home in that tar pit masquerading as a stadium, with his pea-sized brain too unevolved to understand that other big light in the sky is an Ange-shaped asteroid coming to wipe him and his kind off the footballing planet!

Lol I posted a couple of weeks back for a laugh that this BIGOT was heading for the new klub little did I know that there was actually some truth in it.

For him to knock it back he may well know there are some serious shite coming down the pipe over there in the finance stakes, because this PONCE is always up for coin and it could well be he knows there’s none to be made there.
