Steve Clarke call on three Celts for June internationals

Greg Taylor has rejoined Callum McGregor in the Scotland squad with Steve Clarke naming 26 players for the June internationals against Norway and Georgia.

Tony Ralston is also in the squad after being a late call up to the last squad then having to pull out after picking up an injury.

Taylor was surprisingly left out of the Scotland squad for the March wins over Cyprus and Spain, later it was explained that he required some time off to deal with a recurring injury.

With Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney named in the squad opportunities will be limited for the former Kilmarnock man but McGregor seems certain to start both matches.

David Turnbull’s lack of playing time at Celtic has resulted in him dropping out of the Scotland squad over the course of this season, with a year left on his Celtic contract international football will be a consideration.

Celtic already have three players included in the Japan squad for Kirrin Cup internationals next month with Ange Postecoglou’s squad first pre-season match falling on July 19 away to Yokohama F Marinos.
