A massive Celtic support celebrated in the Hampden sun as the Women’s Scottish Cup was secured with a 2-0 victory over their Ibrox counterparts.

It was a comfortable and controlled performance from Fran Alonso’s side as they treated the fans to some entertaining football as they pressed forward at every opportunity.

The first half was goal-less but midway through the second half Natasha Flint and Claire O’Riordan scored in front of the Celtic support to kick off scenes of celebration.

That decision resulted in five minutes of stoppage time but the result was never in doubt as Celtic became the first side to lift the Women’s Scottish Cup at Hampden.

Many of the fans at Hampden had celebrated the SPFL title win at Celtic Park 24 hours earlier, with the Women’s Scottish Cup secured the focus is now on Ange Postecoglou’s side as they face Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday looking to lift the Scottish Cup to complete their domestic treble.
