Ange Postecoglou’s late night message

With most Celtic fans still in various stages of celebrations Ange Postecoglou sent out a 10,32pm message on the club website.

Newspaper websites are embargoed from certain stories until 10.30pm with the timing of the Celtic statement possibly conflicting with news about to be published.

Postecoglou used 419 words but just like his Hampden media interviews it was fully focussed on the achievement of the day, winning the Scottish Cup, another treble and being the dominant club in Scotland.

Delivering Champions League football was touched on but no more than that, there was nothing about going forward, the next challenges.

Postecoglou’s message concluded with:

This Treble now sits alongside the seven previous Trebles that the club has won under Jock Stein, Martin O’Neill, Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon, and it’s an achievement that everyone at the club is rightly very proud of.

It was also special to be able to celebrate today’s success alongside so many of our supporters in Hampden, and given that every single fan plays their part in what we do through the incredible backing they give the team week in, week out, it’s something that we can all share and enjoy together.

Thank you Again!

Ange Postecoglou

It would be a surprise if there was no contact between Spurs, Celtic and Postecoglou over the next couple of days.

While Spurs has many attractions they will have a few questions to answer from the former Yokohama F Marinos boss, one of which could be the apparent leaking of news about Postecoglou appearing on their managerial short-list.

The problems at Spurs may seem similar to those that he inherited at Celtic but there is more than one other serious contender for honours in England. Chelsea and Liverpool will be very determined to return to the top four and the Champions League.

Managing the Harry Kane situation will dominate everything at Spurs this summer as Daniel Levy attempts not to lose face regardless of whether than results in the England captain being sold to a rival or running his deal down to leave as a free agent in 12 months time.

To those who think that Ange should be nipping the rumours in the bud if he is staying, they should consider that he is probably in negotiations with Desmond and Co, over a future improved contract with Celtic and as such cannot say anything to endanger the negotiating process in his favour.

    Relax, he’s going nowhere.

Looking and listening to ange yesterday I’m convinced he’s going, they didn’t show the joy they showed last week, either that or he’s playing a game with the media and sevco, as we know they are absolutely desperate to see him go, could he be giving them false hope only to say, fk you lot, I’m staying, I don’t really believe that though, I think he’s pissed off thoroughly with the bias shown from media and referees

The guy has just become an Immortal at Celtic!
A World Record eighth Treble for the club. sevco finished with nuffing!
That puts Ange on a pedestal beside the truly great managers of the Club!
      That is undeniable fact!
Ange is a football man! He has done alright in football management for twenty six years.
He is shrude enogh to know that the Spurs Job is fraught with many pitfalls! Would he want to rest his career and reputation in a job that looks for all the world like a Dead Rubber?
I would give the man more credit than that!
I reckon he will tell the English football establishment to stuff their Spurs money up their hirelings’ arses and go on and create more history with a truly great Club. with the best stadium in the world – Paradise!

Was sad to hear that once again we are losing an excellent Manager. He was fantastic helping us to win 5 out of six Trophies making Celtic the only team in the world to win 8 trebles. I love My team Celtic since I was 7 years old, many moons ago.
I hope the board get the right Manager for us and not the cheapest Hail Hail
