  1. Each to their own, perhaps?

I’m too miserable to cough up the £60 / £70 for a synthetic top.

I did however buy a replica of the ’67 EC Final top.

Made from 100% cotton, no logos and comfortable to wear.

…and only need upgrading when BR wins us the CL…? 🙂

  2. It’s like Jekyll and Hyde have done the tops this year: The 4th top (4 tops each year? Aye? Get tae…) is much better than this… Two totally different tastes – or maybe that’s their strategy for taking in extra coin.

  3. Looks a lot more European than what we’re used to, almost has a German vibe to it, which is fitting given its from Adidas…it’ll take some getting used to but its not the worst top I’ve seen

  4. I like the design but I’m a bit undecided about the black collar – will need to see it in the flesh (well, the polyester) to decide.

There’s only so much you can do with hoops (or stripes, look at what adidas have done with Juventus’ new home kit!) and this is the first noticeable change in a while. We’ve had some tweaks before and everyone always hates them at first (the 95-97 shirt with variable hoop width and the 2001-2003 shirt with the broken hoops due to a side panel), yet both of those sold well and continue to as retro reissues! You won’t notice any difference while watching the game.

I suspect they know they will upset a few “traditionalists” and that’s why there is the ‘special edition’ kit with the white-out logos coming too – there’ll be something for everybody to buy…..

  5. Seeing it on that lad and his boy it’s not as bad as I thought but the wavy hoops look like the colour’s run in the wash. Still a no from me.
