Football Scotland has admitted to clutching at straws as they hope for the departure of Ange Postecoglou’s departure for Spurs.

The digital arm of the Daily Record and Reach Group led the way two years ago when Celtic appointed the former Yokohama F Marinos to succeed Neil Lennon.

With Mister Gerrard in his pomp the elderly outsider didn’t stand a chance against the Lockdown Champions, gearing up for even greater glory with John Lundstram and Fashion Sakala were added to the squad while massive offers for Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Glen Kamara and Borna Barisic were booted into touch although a £3m bid from a mystery EPL side for James Tavernier was given serious consideration.

Trying to reach out for a new generation of digital bears that have known nothing other than success for Celtic is a big ask but Football Scotland has carried out that task with enthusiasm as they bang the drum for all things Ibrox while rubbing their hands over the prospect of the hoops imploding.

Filling space with nine unseen moments from Hampden that were seen many, Football Scotland reveals Fascinating Fact number 8:

Fans will use any little detail to fit their argument about Ange either leaving or staying. And no wonder. But when the final whistle went the Aussie grabbed hold of the likes of John Kennedy, Jota, Liel Abada and others extra tight when pulling them in for hugs. Clutching at straws? Maybe. But there might just have been something deeper in it, too.

When you admit to your own agenda it says so much.
