Fabrizio Romano on the likely first post Ange Postecoglou Celtic exit

Transfer

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Brighton are leading clubs from Germany and England showing interest in Matt O’Riley.

The midfielder joined Celtic from MK Dons in January 2022 and made an instant impact as Ange Postecoglou’s side powered their way through to lift the SPFL title.

With the Australian now at Spurs there is bound to be speculation about which players will follow Postecoglou out of Celtic.

O’Riley was signed from MK Dons where he had a £1.5m get-out clause after dropping to League One from Fulham where he had failed to make the progress that he had hoped for.

The midfielder is under contract until June 2026 but until a new manager is announced Celtic will be vulnerable to transfer speculation.

With his EPL background there is bound to be English interest in O’Riley, although he is a Danish u-21 internationalist his time at Fulham qualifies him as an association trained player for UEFA purposes.
