Graeme Souness fears that Brendan Rodgers is about to access a massive transfer budget.

Less than a fortnight after Ange Postecoglou joined Spurs Celtic were able to announce his successor just as the transfer speculation gets underway.

Last summer Ange Postecoglou spent just over £15m on Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alexandro Bernabei with strong indicators that that sum will be surpassed in the next few months.

After making a clean sweep of the domestic honours Celtic go into the transfer window in a position of strength, with a new manager determined to prove himself by surpassing the achievements of Postecoglou.

Listening to Souness on TalkSPORT, the Daily Record reports the former Liverpool boss saying:

I tell you what it does, obviously my focus on the other side of Glasgow. This is the worry for me as a Rangers man, that he has asked for assurances on budgets.

What he is going to spend, how much he can spend. I am sure if Brendan had sat he would have got job offers back in England, maybe not the Premier League but certainly top end Championship.

So it worries me slightly he has gone back for that fact alone that promises have been made to him about budgets and how much he can spend. That ain’t good news for Rangers.

Rodgers has still to meet the media to outline his plans for the close season which will be geared towards playing in the Champions League.

After the Scottish Cup Final Postecoglou spoke out about players leaving the club, if that happens Rodgers is likely to expect the bulk of incoming fees to be reinvested in his squad.

Him talking about budgets – Bloody Hypocrite of the highest order for sure !

He used an (ultimately) taxpayers budget of millions – supplied by that crooked cripple Murray to inflate his own fat bloated ego – to defraud his fellow sporting competitors for four seasons…

I’m bloody delighted that as ‘a Rangers man’ – (He’s a liar – He ‘was’ a Heart of Midlothian man) that he’s worried…

I’m also delighted that Rangers fans (as they were then) that I know who loved Murray but are now Sevco fans utterly destest him with a passion…

Wait until we overtake their (feeble and fabricated mind) combined trophy hall of Rangers and their bastard child hangers on club of Sevco !!!

Prediction time, Kyogo won’t be a Celtic player when the window closes.
    This is a good thing.
At his age keeping him makes no sense.
This is how we improve by reinvesting the money and strengthening 2 or 3 positions.
    Minimum 20M not withstanding.

Joe – your last sentence says “Rodgers is likely to expect the bulk of the incoming fees to be reinvested in his squad”.
That surely is a euphemism for – he is likely to expect regression and downsizing.
