Jota has shared an emotional message to Ange Postecoglou alongside an image of his last embrace with his ‘gaffer’.

Signed on loan at the end of August 2021 the winger played a key role in last season’s title success with his move becoming permanent last summer.

Jota was central to most of Postecoglou’s Celtic highlights, fittingly he scored the final goal in the Scottish Cup win over Inverness Caley Thistle at Hampden.

To a man who gave me a life opportunity, never lost belief in his philosophy and marked an Era. I will be forever grateful for every moment. Best of luck Gaffer.

As Postecoglou looks to implement his style of play on Tottenham it is natural that Celtic fans will be concerned about the prospect of players following their former boss, or Gaffer as Jota referred to him.

After taking charge of Celtic Postecoglou relied heavily on the Japanese market to bring success with Daizen Maeda and Tomiki Iwata brought in directly from Yokohama F Marinos.

A return to sign Celtic players wouldn’t be welcomed but just like with the manager when/if an offer comes in from a leading English club it will be difficult for Celtic to stand in the way.
