Micky Beale misses out on no-brainer striker deal

Lyndon Dykes has spurned the overtures from Ibrox to sign a new deal with Queens Park Rangers.

The former Livingston striker had been heavily linked with a move to Ibrox, no less an expert than Barry Ferguson described the move as a no-brainer

Dykes worked with Micky Beale last season at QPR but has opted to stay with the struggling Championship side rather than make a return to Scotland where he starred for Livingston.

With pre-season training starting this week Beale has signed three free agents as well as shelling out £3.5m to bring in Sam Lammers from Atalanta.

Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos, Malkik Tillman, Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor have all left the club but it seems to be the lack of sales that has brought recruitment to a halt.

Borna Barisic, Kemar Roofe and John Lundstram are entering the final year of their contracts but it seems that there is no stampede to sign them after Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey flopped at Southampton and Ajax.
