Myth bursting- The Ibrox legends that Brendan Rodgers smashed

Every summer they held a Revolution- every time Brendan Rodgers put them back in their box.

The summer of 2016 wasn’t about Brendan Rodgers, it was about the glory and trophies that Mark Warburton and Joey Barton would take to Ibrox.

With Leigh Griffiths injured Rodgers threw Moussa Dembele in to his starting XI, the French kid made his mark with Barton soon uninstalling his coffee machine from Murray Park.

In the summer of 2017 Pedro Caixinha tooled up on the leftovers from Warburton’s Revolution. Carlos Pena and Alfredo Morelos were signed up while Bruno Alves arrived at Ibrox promising to win the title.

Unfortunately the Portuguese legend booked onto an Easyjet flight back to Lisbon just before Tom Rogic and Leigh Griffiths sparked the party in the Broomloan Road Stand.

Next up was Mister Gerrard. Allan McGregor, Ryan Kent, Kyle Lafferty, Connor Goldson and Borna Barisic were on the team-sheet, Celtic had just sold Moussa Dembele with John McGinn starting life at Aston Villa.

Despite the issues brewing behind the scenes a goal from Olivier Ntcham gave Celtic full points.

Four wins on the bounce at Ibrox pushed Dave King into action, the Broomloan Road Stand wouldn’t be filled again by Celtic fans but 17 trophies out of the last 21 suggests that the impact of Rodgers in Glasgow is still very much intact.
