Midway between two seasons Todd Cantwell can’t get Chris Sutton out of his head. Rent Free is the current term for the condition.

One player left Norwich for a club record fee and went on to win titles in Scotland and England while appearing in a European final. The other makes groovy TikTok content.

Cantwell does know how to play to the gallery, the Gullible & Deluded lap up his social media content the same way as Callum McGregor collects winners medals.

Sutton barely commentated on a single match involving Cantwell last season but knowing his status with Ibrox fans the Bournemouth reject had to have his say even if his ability to type and know how of the English language is open to question.

Cantwell came off the bench as Sutton provided co-commentary on the Viaplay Cup Final and was a double loser at Hampden in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup at the end of April.

Other than that Tik-Tok Todd had all of his matches covered by Sky Sports with Sutton tied to BT Sport.

Next season Sutton will be on Sky Sports, once Cantwell has matched the medal total of Alistair Johnston or Oh Hyeon-gyu Sutton might give the Ibrox pin up some consideration. And lessons in English.

IMO, there is a decent player in there,

but he needs to toughen up to the rigours of Scottish football,

and do his talking on the pitch.

Toughen up to the rigours of Scottish Football Bob… That’ll probably mean steroid built muscles like his introduction picture from Sevco showed – and thereafter carte blanch to elbow, barge, hack and foul with impunity with out and out protection from the likes of Don Robertson and Co. Like Gascoine at Rangers (as they were known as then) all over again, but without the talent…

Unfortunately he swatted away our lightweight midfield in the last Glasgow Derby…

Fortunately it wasn’t important even though he picked up a ‘Dead Rubber Cup’ winners medal !
