Spurs have announced that Ange Postecoglou is taking over as their Head Coach on July 1 but there is no mention of his backroom staff.

It has been widely reported that the Australian wants to take John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan with him but today’s brief announcement on the Spurs website concluded with:

We shall confirm Ange’s coaching staff in due course.

On the surface the four year contract has been completed over a very short time-scale but reality suggests that Frank Trimboli, Postecoglou’s agent has been negotiating the fine print for some time.

The detail of Kennedy and Strachan’s Celtic contracts aren’t known but if Spurs can hand their Head Coach a four year deal there shouldn’t be any financial issues in adding two or more to the backroom staff.

Over the last four years Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte have managed Spurs with Ryan Mason having two stints as caretaker as well as Cristian Stellini having a month in charge.
