For the first time in more than a decade it wasn’t Scot Brown that was leading the Celts up to lift the Scottish Cup.

For reasons unknown the SFA opted against having the victorious team climb the Hampden steps to raise the trophy, as recently as February that was the set up for the Viaplay Cup Final.

Brown was front and centre of the Quadruple Treble as Celtic broke new ground in Scottish football leaving the club with 22 major honours added to the League Cup medal he collected at Hibs.

Yesterday the Fleetwood Town boss had to take a back seat but couldn’t resist checking in on events at Hampden as he broke off from a family holiday in Florida to watch the match with the Orlando Celtic Supporters Club.

Normally a cup final would be a breakfast time kick-off in Florida but the later start at Hampden made for a more civilised day for the Orlando fans plus holiday makers like Brown.

Elsewhere in North America the Vegas convention kicks off today with a week of Celtic related celebrations.
