Kyogo Furuhashi was giving nothing away about his future intentions when he spoke to local media after training with Vissel Kobe.

Just short of two years ago he left Japan for a new adventure with Celtic, the first J-League player brought in by Ange Postecoglou.

Over the course of two seasons it has been win-win for all involved with Celtic picking up five trophies, Kyogo multiple Player of the Year awards with Postecoglou moving on to Spurs.

This weekend Kyogo will watch Andres Iniesta play his final match for Kobe with the local media keen to find out if there will be any changes for the striker who has been recalled to the Japan squad after missing out on a place at the World Cup Finals.

Asked about his future the Glasgow Times reports Kyogo saying:

No comment. The future will bring what the future brings. I am only thinking about doing my best for the club I belong to now.

It was great to see Andres. I said to him that it had been a long time since I had seen him and the rest of the conversation is a secret! He is the man who gave me the confidence to play football.

He taught me many other things, such as how to play the game and to have belief in myself and because of him, I went to Celtic and achieved results.

I hope to improve my technique and grow even more. I want Andres to enjoy it until his final match. I think a lot of people will want to send him off in a good way. Hopefully, his last match will be a win for Kobe. I will be there to see it myself.

Halfway through his Celtic contract and on the back of scoring 34 goals in a season it would be a surprise if clubs weren’t looking to sign Kyogo.

The prospect of playing in the Champions League under Brendan Rodgers is likely to appeal but until September 1 there is likely to be talk of other clubs being interested in Celtic’s top scorer.

  • Scud Missile says:

The BENNYS are out in force today at the daily sevco with Graeme Young writing another article about Sillyman still coming to sevco next season.

You couldn’t make this up he has thrown in there the £1 million compo for sevco not following through with signing the player and he has also thrown in the 10% sevco will get from any future transfer fee that Bayern will get should they sell him.

So the same player goes back Bayern supposedly costs them all that expense that Bayern had to pay to sevco and now the same player is returning to ibrox.

WHO THE F**K is going to believe that S***E.

It’s like putting Arthur Daley into the washing with Delboy Trotter and out comes a journalist a journalist ready to write some serious S***E for the daily sevco.

WHO THE F**K is going to believe that S***E – a good point Scud Missile and I think we all know it’s Sevco’s gullibile hoards that will be buying the rancid rag and be believing every single blatant lie and fairy story they are fed… They say they hate it but they still buy it…

Fortunately I’ve not ‘caught’ any Celtic fans buying it physically this week so far, thus saving me giving them some education advice on why not to purchase an evil anti Celtic and anti Celtic supporters publication !

Other clubs should be told in no uncertain terms that this young man is a Celt and is not for sale. Iniesta will have told him what is best for him. Most of soccer exists in the world of filthy money. I am sure Kyogo appreciates the universe he exists in at the moment.
