Gary Keown is paid by the Daily Mail to share his opinions.
Unlike most on the Scottish media scene he does actually share his views rather than just pass on messages in the hope of remaining in the loop.
Keown has some strong views on the chancers that have added so much to The Banter Years, presiding over a decade of failure and embarrassment at Ibrox.
Starting his writing career in the succulent nineties he rarely had to cover success at Celtic Park, whenever it did appear The Chairman would dig deeper into someone else’s pocket to ensure that some new superstar would be snubbing Manchester United and Arsenal for the joys of Ibrox and a variety of creative remuneration schemes.
Even when the old club went kaput it didn’t automatically result in a monopoly of trophy wins for Celtic. Ross County, Kilmarnock, St Mirren, Hearts and Inverness Caley Thistle ensured the phrase CELTS HAMPDEN HOODOO was regularly updated.
But not recently. Even up against Honest Mistakes Celtic have smashed it in recent times. A world record eighth treble made it 17 domestic trophy wins out of the last 21.
Ange Postecoglou had half an eye on events in London but he still snuffed out the gobby rookie at Ibrox. At the business end of the season Celtic lifted the Viaplay Cup, put the SPFL title out of reach then clinched a Scottish Cup Final place against the bibs and cones guy that finks he is going to win lots of fings.
Brendan Rodgers kicked all of this off. After the celebrations at Hampden in April 2016 when Celtic lost a Scottish Cup semi-final there has been a helluva backlash.
Now it seems like the guy that initiated that fancies some more. It is little wonder that some folk are terrified that Beale could end up as another casualty like Warbo and Pedro.

Total clown

No need to even remark on Krusty (the clown) Keown, except to say he’s a bell-end.
But I loved that wee clip of Steve Clarke when at Kilmarnock “Bye, Bye Rangers” and the completer moron on twitter saying ‘the media’, or rather ‘their media’ should call out Clarke as a rangers-hater. They really are sick in the heid. Scotland, under Clarke, take 9 points from 3 games in almost unbelievable fashion and a new-scum fan comes out with that. It’s their infantile attitude and sheer stupidity…….or is it “if it isnae rainjurrs it’s no’ fur me, but ah’m Scoatish thru an thru so am ur”.
Lawwell/Desmond could’ve and should’ve finished them properly and didn’t. Never forget nor let THEM forget that.
Hail! Hail! The Glasgow Celtic and well done Scotland.
Don’t you find it rather strange and annoying that all week long most of the ‘up to date news ‘ regarding Celtic FC’s new head coach , has come from the Daily Mail and the Sun in Scotland ? I know I do ! The two most anti Celtic media outlets are apparently the preferred sources of information , out of all the plethora of other sources in which to relay true and reliable information on this important matter . I wonder who made the highly intelligent decision to keep these two tabloid rags cognisant on such a substantial impending decision ? For me it’s a case of ‘in the category of the worst dumb decisions list ,’ this is right up there !
Probably Lawwell, he’s been known to favour those filthy, tory rags and he drops tit-bits to the daily rancid too! And he creeps back in the door as Chairman FFS, there’s much that’s right at CP but Lawwell’s not involved in ANY of it. The fat git has feathered his own nest for decades now but Desmond must like him. Why oh why?
How does it matter who it is that reports the story, if the story is accurate?
Some punters still want to buy a newspaper. Should the only buy the Daily Record and their Fairy story reporting?
They pays their money and they makes their choices!
I’ll absolutely NEVER EVER understand why any Celtic supporter ? would want to aid any Scottish tabloid or broadsheet rag either by purchasing it or reading online…
It’s akin to welcoming the guy that hated her but has just beaten up your daughter or sister back into your house with open arms –
They detest our beloved Hoops and yet I still see Hoops fans buying them but I of course pull them up and ask why they want to keep them alive…
Use Celtic friendly blogs to report their lies and hatred of us and please, please DECIST IMMEDIATELY from even one more purchase !
I’ll do what I like with my money, mate. Thanks for the offer. But I earned it myself and I’ll spend it how I please. Got that?
I have bought the Daily Mail once in the last year., to read all about our most recent Treble win. Before that, I used to buy it for the sport, if there was anything on Celtic in it.
I always found it a fact-based sports section. There was constructive analysis of Celtic matches, news etc.
The weekend before the Cup final, there was an interesting three-part story about Ange Postecogolu and his history in football management over the years, from Australia to Japan to South Aisa to Glasgow.
Are you really saying we should make ourselves ignorant by not reading stories of interest to Celtic supporters.
Seems like it’s you that is the bigot here!
BRING IT BRENDAN… 1-5 @ IBROX IS STILL IN MY MRMORY… HJ
