The Revolution fell flat tonight for Micky Beale as Olympiakos strolled to a 3-1 win at Ibrox.
Not even a very generous penalty award from Steven McLean could cover the cracks with Tavpen levelling the scores early in the 51st minute.
Five minutes later Joao Carvalho restored the lead for Olympiakos with the same player scoring again after 70 minutes after substitute Ridvan Yilmaz was turned inside out.
If this is what we’re seeing in a friendly, buckle up for next season. ? pic.twitter.com/hU8YUH77JM

Any pre season contenders for the Simulation Game yet?? pic.twitter.com/ZUwvmTrVXL

Beale started the match with many of his superstar signings in place including Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers and Abdallah Sima who were all relegated last season.
When substitute Fashion Sakala is your most threatening forward you know that your team has problems.
The usual messengers will come out with the tried and tested pre-season lines but in two weeks time Beale has to have a team ready to face Genk or Servette in a Champions League Third Round qualifier.
None of the hyped up summer signings have made the slightest improvement on last season’s offering with even TikTok Todd looking miles off it against Newcastle and Olympiakos.
Former Chelsea defender Dujan Sterling hasn’t played in any of the pre-season friendlies while Ryan Jack was watching from the stand for the second match running.

Thought we bought strikers?

No point trying to pretend that was anything other than poor tonight but it’s preseason so a lot of context required. That said we still look very shaky defensively and even in attack there is no cohesion. The 4 goals we’ve scored have been 2 pens and 2 mistakes from the press

Pack Lundstram, Barisic and Davies’ bags now
— Conor (@The_Conzo24) July 26, 2023
Absolutely shocking watch this game, please get rid of Barisic and Lundstram for a start.

Disjointed middle to front with glimpses of positivity BUT the defence is Groundhog Day – ball in behind the full backs, cross into box and goal – been happening for years. We continually fail to learn. Defensive changes urgently needed ????

That defence man, needs sorting pronto. Hopefully we have another one or two defenders coming in this window.

I’ve seen nothing in preseason to excite me. I’m still not understanding this system. Everyone’s to far away from each other to link up. We can’t get Raskin, Cantwell or the forwards on the ball in the areas we need.
Difficult opponents I get, im still seeing Matondo & Sakala!?

No wonder Celtic fans are confident this season, I would have been as well watching that defence and team performance

I’ve never seen a team with so many players who’s first instinct when they get the ball is to play it backwards.

Steven McLean is a disgrace as a referee. He doesn’t even try to hide his bias.
He should be nowhere near any sevco or Celtic games next season..
How long will this charade go on?
McLean? Yes, I had a bath this morning!
Ha ha! That’s a cracker, Jack!
How long will this charade go on? – I’m afraid it will FOREVER if we remain in this Rancid Football Country Tony !
Will the media go to town and gleefully savage their honking defence like they did with ours
No champions league for that mob this season. The luck of the devil is about to hit the buffers
Perhaps the record that Andrew Dallas infamously set by awarding them 4 penalties in a single match will fall in the coming season. His father must have been so proud of his contribution to the “cause”.
A quick scan down on the Daily Record Twitter page activity today
Non stop articles about the ‘ Big Game ‘ all day
Since full time . Near silence about it
Calm doon….. Bealiola has still to gaze deep in to the eye’s of all his superstar signings yet…….

If it’s The Daily Rancid Record then I’d refer to it as their SHITTER account Harold !
