Micky Beale us stepping up his efforts to shift the deadwood that he inherited from Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Steven Gerrard.

At the start of the week Antonio Colak joined Italian Second Division side Parma for an undisclosed fee with Scott Wright in Turkey to discuss terms with newly promoted Pendikspor.

Beale has already moved on most of last season’s goalscorers with Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield and Malik Tillman walking away but has further work to do to trim the wage bill.

Tucked away at the end of a story about a new bid going in for Danilo of Feyenoord, The Sun reports:

Glen Kamara and Rabbi Matondo are both likely to leave the club, with Gers also willing to listen to offers for Ianis Hagi.

Matondo was a star signing last summer, accompanied by claims that he was faster than Usain Bolt, unfortunately the famous Jamaican has more footballing ability than Van Bronckhorst’s £3m signing.

Hagi also cost £3m whenhe signed from Genk in the summer of 2020, with little sign of interest in the players it is likely that they will have to go out on loan with Bayern Munich terms applied to the deals.
