Ben McPherson is the third Celtic player linked with a move to Admira Wacker.

It seems that the Austrian second tier club have set up some sort of partnership with Celtic with claims that goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi and left-back Matthew Anderson are already in talks with Admira.

Nothing official has been announced by either club but at 19.16 yesterday the Daily Record reported:

Ben McPherson could become the latest Celtic youngster to join Admira Wacker. The right-back has just returned from the Japanese tour with Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The 19-year-old is now being considered for a loan to Austria. Celtic have already sent out Matthew Anderson and Tobi Oluwayemi to the Austrian Second Tier outfit.

The Hoops have a tie up with Admira. They are looking to get their younger players first-team experience and to help Wacker try to win promotion back to the top tier.

McPherson played for 25 minutes against Yokohama F Marinos then got the second half against Gamba Osaka before suffering a stoppage time head knock.

For the third season Celtic are playing in the Lowland League but the value of playing in the fifth/sixth tier of Scottish football is uncertain.

So far in this window Celtic haven’t sent any young players out on loan to Scottish clubs with Adam Montgomery to Fleetwood the only loan so far completed.

Sending a couple of players out to Austria together makes sense on and off the pitch, especially when it is two defenders and a full back.

Admira start their league campaign tomorrow night at home to Stripfing.
