Twelve months ago Leon Balogun was being thanked for his services and removed from the Ibrox payroll.

Now, reportedly undergoing a medical, the 35-year-old is poised to be rolled out as the Seventh sign up for Micky Beale’s Revolution.

Just like Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling and Jack Butland the former Brighton star will be joining up as a free agent.

It seems that Beale’s attempts to sign Jonathan Panzo and Auston Trusty have stalled despite successfully passing the Eye Test. Transfer fees are now required.

Nottingham Forest are looking for £2m for Panzo while Arsenal are looking for double that figure for their central defender Panzo.

It seems that a significant injury to Leon King has accelerated the signing of Balongun. After the World Cup break Balogun made four Championship appearances for QPR.

With Conor Goldson and Dujon Sterling both out injured Beale looks like going into his pre-season matches with a central defensive partnership of John Souttar and Ben Davies.

The Champions League Third Round qualifiers will be played on August 8/9 and 15.
