Ibrox fans name names as they wait for summer exodus

There was a very familiar look to the images and clips emerging from Murray Park over the weekend.

At the end of last season six players walked away, four regulars plus Filip Helander and Malik Tillman without a penny coming in to Micky Beale’s war-chest.

While the media has been polishing the waifs and strays arriving at the club there has been no shifting of the deadwood with virtually no interest being reported in Beale’s squad.

With the memories of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos fresh in mind the clock is now ticking down on the finals months of the contracts of Borna Barisic, John Lundstram and Kemar Roofe.

Last summer Southampton and Ajax were lured into signing dubious goods but without a Sporting Director pushing players out the door there is no sign of movement.

With Beale bringing in his own players there are doubts over the future of a range of players with last summer’s intake especially unimpressive.

Getting their money back on Ben Davies, Ridvan Yilmaz, Antonio Colak and Rabbi Matondo isn’t going to happen with imaginative loans likely to clear the decks.

In just over five weeks Beale’s squad go into the Third Qualifying Round of the Champions League. Without Allan McGregor, Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Scott Arfield there isn’t much experience for the rookie boss to lean on.
