An old chestnut resurfaced last night when The Sun reported that Celtic will be offered 700 tickets for the September 3 match at Ibrox.

It is fair to say that there isn’t much enthusiasm for the idea among Celtic fans.

Back in the summer of 2018 Dave King caved in to pressure from bleating bears and reduced the allocation at Ibrox for Celtic fans from 7,000 to 700. With no SPFL rules in place other than a reasonable allocation the move went through with Celtic replying with the same allocation for their home matches.

Following Lockdown each club had a home fans only fixture before the 700 allocation was restored in the second half of the 21/22 season.

The layout of Ibrox leaves Celtic fans open to attack from all sides with little sign of stewarding, Police or CCTV in operation to identify the culprits which seemed to encourage more violence.

Following the 2-2 draw at Ibrox on January 2 Celtic decided not to put their fans at risk although no announcement was ever made/ The final two Glasgow Derbies of last season were for home fans only before smooth talking incoming Ibrox CEO James Bisgrove started talking about the matter.

Last night’s report in The Sun made no mention of safety matters, the replies from Celtic supporters was predictable.

Should Celtic accept 700 tickets for Ibrox?

No thanks…In fact if I never enter the Bigot Dome again…That’ll still be too soon…We don’t need this crap..Tell them tae get lost.

If the offer is rejected by Celtic the scoops will have a field day with their scathing criticism . I would accept the amount ,but raise the Rangers quota to say 1000 fans and see how the SMSM rottweilers react to that …. It feels like a bit of a chess game now !

    • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

No John respectfully absolutely not in ma humble opinion on this one… No matter what good we do and niceties we partake in it’ll never be reported positively in the Scottish media as this Blog keeps us all in the loop regarding that for sure !

I wouldn’t trust Sevco one MILLIMETRE far less an inch or the mile that they always take anyway in all situations…

We will never be seen or portrayed as the good guys in any dealings with Sevco so therefore 1,000 tickets to them is an absolute NO from me anyway in fact not even ONE for then far less one thousand !

  • FSTB says:

The facts of the matter are .
The ST holders at CP within sevco ‘s old away allocation are still not guaranteed those seats at derby games . So Celtic can reinstate the old agreement.
Sevco on the other hand have sold the seats in our old allocation section to sevco fans so cannot .
Sevco caused it ,whether for financial reasons or pandering to the bigots that inhabit that stand and ONLY SEVCO can fix it .
    7,000 or nothing

That’s what you get when you vet and let a
    “Glib And Shameless Liar”
    into your executive dealings.
    SFA should have said
    “No”
    but they are spineless.
Now we got an unresolved bad situation. That suits some to a tee.
The glib and shameless, lying types!

What have “the rangers” put in place to protect human beings at the “pit” they call home or Ibrox. An opposing assistant scarred for life, glass found on the park delaying the game, weapons placed for use later, opposing teams attacked by missiles, opposing fans attacked by missiles, and not being able to protect pundits reporting on the game, HAVE THE SFA/SPFL ,POLICE, SMSM, CELTIC , ASKED WHAT HAS BEEN PUT IN PLACE TO PREVENT THIS EVER HAPPENING….. AGAIN…..IF THEY HAVE NONE OF THEM HAVE MADE IT PUBLIC….. Safety was the reason for not taking any tickets in the first place…. so “the rangers” tell us what you have put in place….. because those organisations won’t ask
